The S Family

I met Michelle years ago....  it was pre-Facebook days, the days where you had "forums" and you chatted online!    We met via a San Diego Newlywed board, (yes sounds dorky, but it wasn't).   We chatted about our pregnancies, kids, work, and just life!   Fast forward about 7 years and here we are.. in a field,  capturing her beautiful family.   I feel so honored that she asked ME to document this time in their lives.  Thanks Michelle!   I hope to be a part of many more of your families memories in the future.   ENJOY

What to Wear

Thursday, September 6, 2012

Let's be honest, the excitement of having your family photos done is toast as soon as you have to figure out what you are going to WEAR!   It is a daunting task to mix and match colors, textures, make sure everyone is happy, comfortable, etc etc!!!!    I often get asked, "WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?"    So....   Here are a few of the families I have photographed in the past that I feel did a great job choosing their outfits.    They weren't afraid to go bold, different, contrast, and show their true personalities.

The Aldrich Family

This field has become quite popular for pics!   It is hard to stray away when you know the light will yield these gorgeous sunny warm images.   Of course this family was incredibly fun and made my job easy.    I honestly could not get enough of these kids!   They were so much fun...and what is about 6 year old girls that just ham it up in front of the camera?  sheesh...
ENJOY!

On the road...first stop...MAILBOXES!!

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Last week we decided to surprise the kids and take them on a little road trip to Palm Desert... kinda a last ditch effort to have some fun before summer is over.    We love going out the "back" way through Anza.    Along the way is this little turn off with a ton of mailboxes.  I have been eyeing this spot for years and have never had the opportunity to stop with my "real" camera and take some pics usually because kids are sleeping, or we are in a hurry, or I forgot the camera!   Well, this time it was ALMOST a perfect opportunity.   The sky was full of thunder clouds and the air smelled of rain...only problem was, one kid was sleeping.   Oh well, we went with it anyways and here are a few of my favorite shots.

even I got in a few!!!

this is my husbands.. "are you done taking pics yet" look

miller snoozing through the whole thing... thunder and all...

and that's the story of our little stop at the mailboxes....   sad to say, I didn't take any other pics of our trip!!
