The K Family

I have known this pretty Mama since I was about 7.   Our Dad's coached our softball teams together for what seemed like our whole childhood!  Now, our boys go to school and play together.  I love that I am still in contact with some of my oldest friends and that they want ME to photograph their beautiful families.  Jeremy & Jill were up for anything for their shoot.  They didn't have any requests, were game for doing anything and going anywhere.  Patrick is almost 4 and was so happy, smiley and LOVED the camera... and Johnathon, 16 months, wanted to do whatever his big Bro was doing, so they made my job easy!!  As for the location..... I happened upon this field the other day.  I love it because it is close to my house, no one is around, and the light in the evening is gorgeous.   I dug the vintage soda crates out of my Nana's shed in my backyard.  They were full of old leaves, spiders, dirt, etc...  After a little clean up, they made the perfect prop!   I look forward to many more shoots in this field.

Little Liam

First of all, I have to mention that these 2 made my job EASY!!   Seriously, can you get more photogenic and gorgeous??  I am thinking... NO....  This shoot was mainly to focus on Liam and his obvious love for his Mommy... you see, he will soon be a Big Brother and will have to share!   We all had a blast running around in the dirt, throwing leaves, & climbing on trains....all things little boys are cut out to do!   I look forward to capturing the rest of the family this Spring....

This little bundle of joy was just 12 days old...she was tiny, sweet, and perfect.  She had a rough night the night before, so she was extra sleepy for our shoot which was exactly what we wanted.   Her parents are head over heels, wouldn't you be too?

It is kinda funny that I just got to know this pretty Mama.... mainly because we grew up in the same town and have some of the same friends, but our paths never crossed until a few years back.   We have a lot in common.. our boys are the same age, they go to the same school, they play on the same soccer team, she is funny, sarcastic, pretty (see...just like me!!!)  ... but the main difference is that she is braving a THIRD child!  Ya, that is where the similarities end... This beautiful family are about to be blessed with a little GIRL!!  And yes.. there is a Dad in the picture, we just couldn't rangle him for these pics, but I promise to capture a special Father Daughter pic in the next few weeks!

Dust in the Wind

Two years ago, my mother-in-law lost her battle with Colon Cancer.  She was just 60 years old.  It was a fast and furious process and left us all in a bit of a shock.  By the time she was diagnosed, there wasn't much time left.  She knew she wanted her ashes to be spread in Big Bear, where she spent most of her adult life raising her boys.  This past weekend, the family gathered on a gorgeous fall mountain day.  We drove to Onyx summit where we shared our memories of her, laughed, and cried.  We all left with a part of Chris with us (and on us!!).  What a wonderful experience, one that we will all cherish forever.

xoxo Chris, Mom, Grandma... we continue to miss you EVERYDAY.

I have know Alison since maybe we were 6?  I am not sure, but I was thrilled when she asked if I would take their family pictures.  We were reunited through, none other than, Facebook and this was our first gathering in 25 years!  WHAT?!?!?    Her family had the best energy... and the youngest of the bunch, said it best... "That was the funnest best picture day ever!"   I assure we will not wait that long before our next get together.  Thanks for all the FUN Alison & Fam!!!

It was a blast.....

Heritage Park Family Photos

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

I was super excited to take these family photos...primarily because I have known Sara since we were in Jr. High School!  She and her family just moved back to the area and I couldn't be more excited.   They chose Heritage Park because about 6 years ago, it was at this very spot that they got married.  Today, they have 2 beautiful kiddos.   After all of their hard work modeling & mine shooting.... we rewarded ourselves with Margaritas and a fun family dinner.  So glad to have you back in the hood,Thomas clan!!
